What is cerebral palsy?

Cerebral palsy (CP) is the neurological disorder that affects body movement posture and muscle tone.

What are the cause of cerebral palsy (CP)?

It is due to the damage to the brain or abnormal brain growth or damage to developing brain.

What are the symptoms of CP?

Stiffness of muscles tone (hypertonic)
floppy muscles tone(hypotonia),
Difficulty in coordination
Difficulty in control of muscles.
Difficulty in balance and walking.
Involuntary movements or tremors.

Classification:

* Spastic CP: in which stiffness of muscles and exaggerated reflexes.
* Dyskinetic CP: involuntary movements, which can be slow or jerky.
* Ataxic CP: Affects balance and uncoordinated movements.
* Mixed CP: Combines symptoms of different types.

Treatment:

Medication
Physical Therapy includes stretching,strengthening,weight wearing,functional mobility exercises,DMI,hydrotherapy,assisted walking ,braces .
